President Tinubu begs Nigerians abroad to return home
Tinubu made these comments during a Presidential Town Hall Meeting with Nigerians living abroad in New York on September 20. The meeting was organized by the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) during the UN General Assembly's 78th session.
He mentioned that he had personally experienced life as part of the diaspora and understood the challenges they face. He emphasized the need for a change in mindset and encouraged Nigerians abroad to see Nigeria as a land of business opportunities.
Tinubu expressed satisfaction with the positive contributions of Nigerians living in foreign countries and praised their good behavior and success in various fields.
He also urged Nigerians abroad to consider returning home, stating that Nigeria had made progress and should not be judged by past leadership frustrations.
Tinubu commended efforts to educate out-of-school children, improve healthcare, and reduce poverty, emphasizing that Nigeria is a blessed nation despite leadership challenges.
He shared his own campaign experience and encouraged those interested in politics to persevere and overcome hurdles.
Tinubu encouraged unity among Nigerians, urging them to embrace each other without ethnic divisions, emphasizing that they are one family living under the same roof.
