I am very happy with what happened in Gabon: Fayose
Ayodele Fayose, former governor of Ekiti state, is pleased with the coup d'état in Gabon, a country in central Africa.
The Gabonese army took power on Wednesday, overthrowing President Ali Bongo, who had just been re-elected to a third term. According to some reports, the elections were marred by irregularities.

Speaking on Channels Television's Hard Copy on Friday, the former governor wondered why anyone had been in power for so long. “I am very happy with what happened in Gabon.I don't like military interference in politics, but I want to tell you that Nigeria is different, we have a fairly stable democracy," Fayose said . "We have our flaws, but there is an ongoing democratic process.
There will be elections in four years...Nigeria has switched from one party to another. “From one person to another at a given time. But in a country where a single man spends 30, 40 years. He definitely needs to be evicted from this place.
Fayose said that a military invasion
should pave the way for a democratic system in the country. “The situation is
different from Nigeria. Nigeria capitulated, but we have not yet reached final order.”
