Amidst recent developments, the retired justice refuted the comments attributed to her husband, stating that she had "never shown favoritism towards any party" during her tenure as a judge.

However, in his ruling on Tuesday, Justice Ekwo determined that the most logical interpretation of Bulkachuwa's statement was that it contradicted the law.

"It's straightforward; he influenced his wife," Ekwo stated, going on to assert that this constitutes a form of corruption.

Ekwo deemed the lawmaker's statement an admission of wrongdoing that warrants investigation and possible prosecution.

The judge further stated that the plaintiff could face arrest based on his statement, emphasizing that the National Assembly is not a sanctuary for individuals involved in crimes related to the manipulation of the criminal justice system.

"In my opinion, this case lacks merit and should be dismissed. Therefore, the case is dismissed," Ekwo concluded.
